Tips to Reduce Armpit Sweat Risk Free

Sweating is a natural process that is essential for the normal functioning of our body. It assists in regulating body temperature, and also helps in excreting certain unwanted waste products from our body. However, excessive sweating does more harm than good. Thus, there are people suffering from a condition known as axillary hyperhidrosis, which is basically excessive sweating in their underarms. Such people sweat excessively under their armpits, even when the weather is relatively cool and pleasant and they are not performing any strenuous physical exercise.

The Problem

A person suffering from armpit sweat would experience both embarrassment and frustration, especially when interacting with people. Armpit sweating would leave stains on clothes and generally be quite nuisance. And what’s worse, people may also suffer when their professions require that they create a rapport with some other people. Instances could include meetings during work, or liaising of clients, or even out at social events such as weekend outings and barbeques. Social interactions soon begin to suffer, along with corporate productivity when the person is continually worrying at stressing about their excessive sweating, as it is on the forefront of their minds.  People taking examinations might find that they begin to sweat uncontrollably. Wearing light-coloured clothes would mean that they would soon have a dark sweat stain because of the damp patch under the armpits. People with excess armpit sweat may soon shirk from going to a club or a bar, or even going on a date. Furthermore, excessive armpit sweat definitely doesn’t attract the opposite sex.

Experiencing sweating in the armpits is normal, but about one person in every hundred experiences it in an extreme manner. Furthermore, if one experiences armpit sweating, there is a very good chance that he or she would also suffer from excessive hand sweating, or palmar hyperhidrosis. Often the regular antiperspirant one uses might not even be sufficient, and one might even try prescription antiperspirants which can only be bought from a chemist. However, even this might not be a viable solution for some people.

The Solution

Bringing about a change in one’s clothing would be very helpful, if one suffers from excess armpit sweat. Limiting their clothes to certain colours which help in hiding the stains is a simple yet effective solution. Changes in one’s diet could also be a good idea. Surgery is another option, but isn’t recommended unless the case is severe.

An important fact that many people are unaware of is that a person’s diet can have a great impact on his or her sweating levels. Armpit sweat is generally caused due to the sympathetic nervous system being over stimulated, and certain foods have been found to cause this hyperactivity. Thus, such foods could be avoided. Also, caffeine and spicy food has been found to aggravate the problem and so should also be discouraged. Also, people generally sweat because they happen to be stressed, and so methods of relaxation are also good to deal with excessive armpit sweating. Meditation and yoga are possibly the best methods there are to achieve this end.
